Motorbike / BMX Frame Design and Rapid Fabrication
In this exciting program, students will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity by designing and fabricating their own motorbike frames. This hands-on experience will allow students to develop their problem-solving skills, enhance their understanding of mechanical principles, and gain valuable knowledge in the field of engineering.

The course will begin by equipping students with the fundamental skills of basic hand sketching techniques. Using these techniques, students will be able to visually communicate their ideas and design their motorbike frames in a 2D format. This creative process will encourage students to think critically and develop their artistic capabilities.
Once the initial design is complete, students will progress to the next stage, where they will transform their 2D sketches into 3D models. Utilizing advanced software tools, students will be able to visualize their designs from multiple angles, ensuring proper fit and functionality. The 3D model will also assist students in determining the optimal material for their motorbike frame, taking into consideration factors such as strength, weight, and durability.
After the 3D design is approved, students will move on to the fabrication stage. In this phase, PVC piping will be the primary material used for rapid prototyping the motorbike frame. By simply joining the lengths and fittings together, students will be able to construct their frames accurately and efficiently. This method of fabrication enables students to explore different assembly techniques and gain valuable insights into the construction process.
To further enhance the authenticity of the project, each student will receive a 3D printed wheel mount that will be supplied for their individual motorbike frames. This will ensure the proper functionality and alignment of the wheels, allowing students to experience the gratification of successfully completing their fabricated motorbike frames.
Throughout this course, students will work in a supportive and collaborative environment, fostering teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills. In addition, they will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and receive feedback from experienced instructors, further enhancing their learning experience.
By the end of this course, students will not only have designed and fabricated their motorbike frames, but they will also have gained a deeper understanding of engineering principles, developed their creativity and problem-solving skills, and acquired hands-on experience in the field of rapid prototyping. Join us today and embark on an exhilarating journey to create your own motorbike frame!
